Venom (Film Series)
The Venom film series is a cycle of Sony Pictures Entertainment films featuring the Marvel Comics character Venom. It consists of Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage so far, with additional plans for a Venom 3.
Tom Hardy stars in and produces the franchise, and even contributed writing to the second film. Michelle Williams also co-stars in the series.
Kelly Marcel wrote and produced the first two films. She is doing the same for the third film, as well as directing it.
While the character originated as a Spider-Man villain-turned-anti-hero, the movies have only tangentially referenced the web-slinger. Let There Be Carnage included a in-credits scene in which Eddie Brock/Venom was transported to the Marvel Cinematic Universe where Tom Holland's Spider-Man is visible on a TV news report. In the scene, Venom seems to recognize Peter Parker. Hardy also made a cameo as Brock in Spider-Man: No Way Home in a mid-credits scene where he is transported out of the MCU and back to Sony's self-contained Spider-verse, but not before leaving a piece of Venom's black ooze behind.
