The Suicide Squad

The Suicide Squad is Warner Bros' live-action sequel to the 2016 film Suicide Squad, based on the DC Comics team of the same name.

James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) picked up directing and scripting duties when he was temporarily on the outs with Marvel/Disney. Production commenced on The Suicide Squad September 13th, 2019. 

Here's the official summary from Warner Bros., with actor credits added: Welcome to hell—a.k.a. Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out—even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport (Idris Elba), Peacemaker (John Cena), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior), Savant (Michael Rooker), King Shark, Blackguard (Pete Davidson), Javelin (Flula Borg) and everyone’s favorite psycho, Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie). Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. The cast also includs David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, Mayling Ng as Mongal, Peter Capaldi as Thinker, Alice Braga as Sol Soria, Nathan Fillion as T.D.K. and Sean Gunn as Weasel.
