Once Upon a Deadpool

Once Upon a Deadpool is 20th Century Studios' 2018 re-edited re-release of the film Deadpool 2.

With Deadpool 2 being both a Marvel superhero movie and one of the most successful R-rated comedies of all time, the studio was motivated to try to win the box offices dollars of younger viewers. This holiday release re-cut the movie to allow a PG-13 rating. It also added an all-new framing sequence in which Deadpool reads the story of the film to an adult Fred Savage. This new sequence is a clear comedic riff on 1987's The Princess Bride, in which actor Peter Falk reads the story of the film to a then-12-year-old Savage.

At the insistence of Reynolds, 20th Century Studios donated a portion of the profits to the Fuck Cancer charity.

This version of the film was released into theaters in December of 2018
