"The future is a cooler place than you might imagine." Rob Schrab is right. The writer/producer/director of the indie film Robot Bastard!, sums it all up in the introduction to his web page, RobotBastard.com (check it out. It's chock full o' coolness like production photos, songs from the soundtrack, storyboards, production sketches, etc...). The future is claymation, hot chicks, mega-violence, and heavily armed robots defending the universe. At under 17 minutes, the film is too short to give away too much in the review. Suffice it to say it's worth a look. Pure fanboy fodder. Electric tape wrapped mummies with lasers fighting a robot so vicious he must be chained up within his rocket ship. Sets reminiscent of the original Star Trek series. Lots of death. Claymation. Model rocket ships, reminiscent of Nickelodeon's Kablam!, chromakeyed into space. Death and dismemberment. The occasional explosion. The rescue of a hot chick in a short skirt. Even a plot twist. And did I mention death, violence, and green-blooded alien gore? And it's more than just your average fanboy-made film. The quality is very high. the look and sound are great. The world has a consistency of that flows throughout. Robot Bastard! is what happens when fanboys take over the BBC and force it to do really fun, demented shows. And that about sums it up: Demented fanboy fun, supported by a thin plot. For any fanboy with a sense of humor and a computer, Robot Bastard! is most definitely worth the wait to download. From one fanboy to
another...
