Reported By Comics2Film, 8/8/2001:

Sources in the know say that Silver Pictures is in negotiations with a new writing team for the film adaptation of Tony Daniels' Adrenalynn. Word is that Jon and Erich Hoeber are in discussions to pen the script about a soviet secret weapon. Our source tells us that no deal is in place at this point, but things are looking favorably.

Christina Ricci (Bless the Child) has long been attached as a producer and potential lead for the movie. Joel Silver and Andrea Sperling, Ricci's partner in Blaspheme Films are also producing.

Reported By F5 Entertainment, 1/30/2001:

According to a posting on the F5 Entertainment website, the movie version of Tony Daniel's Adrenalynn is currently without a screenwriter. Alan Sereboff had originally been drafted to write the script for the film, but he apparently left the project some time in January. "Alan Sereboff who was initially enlisted to do the screenplay on the Joel Silver, Christina Ricci picture is now off the project," Daniel told fans in a January 30th posting on his website. "Reportedly, other obligations have kept him from meeting the schedule that Joel Silver and Warner Bros. would like to keep."

Daniel also told his readers that a new writer should be on board soon and the movie is targeted for a 2002 shoot.

Daniel also gave a brief update on the F5 movie. "David and Tim Douglas are well underway with the screenplay," Daniel said. " These guys are amazing and will do the characters justice. I hope to work with them again on something."

It was reported last December that the Douglas brothers had sold the pitch for F5 to Paramount for a low six-figure sum.

Reported By Comics2Film, 1/10/2001:

Comics2Film touched base with a source at Silver Pictures and got an update on two of their projects.

Our source tells us that Wonder Woman has a new writer. Todd Alcott has been hired to rewrite an existing script by Jon Cohen (Minority Report). Alcott has a writing credit on the CGI film Antz and more recently penned Deadworld and the currently in-production 13 Ghosts for Warner Bros.

Our source tells us that work is progressing on the big-screen version of Tony Daniels' Adrenalynn. While it's not exactly new news, our source says that Alan Sereboff is the screenwriter on that one. Silver pictures is working closely with Sereboff and producers Christina Ricci and Andrea Sperling. Ricci is set to star in the film.

In related news, After successfully getting movie deals for Adrenalynn and F5, Daniels will likely try to bring his latest comic to the big screen as well. Daniels told the editor of his F5 Entertainment website "Silke, obviously is the next to go through [Daniels' agent at] ICM and hopefully find a home in Hollywood, too." Silke is Daniels' latest title, published by Dark Horse comics.

Reported By Daily Variety 6/6/2000:

According to a recent article in Daily Variety, Warner Bros. and Silver Pictures have purchased the screen rights to Tony Daniels' Image Comics title Adrenalynn.  The movie is set to star Christina Ricci (Sleepy Hollow) in the title role.  The producers on the movie will be Joel Silver, Ricci and her Blaspheme Films partner Andrea Sperling.

The article consistently refers to the title as Adrenaline, although the comic book carried the alternate spelling, representing the name of the primary character.

Daniels' F5 Entertainment website provides this description for the comic: "Adrenalynn is a story about a secret weapons program being developed by the Soviet Union in the 1980s that involves the merging of human and machine to build the perfect weapon of mass destruction. After these androids make their way to the U.S., something unexpected began to happen with the biological make-up of the newly formed artificial beings. They began to mutate into flesh-eating robot monsters! Soon after, a new and enhanced version of the same weapon is sent to America to hunt down and destroy the evidence...and her name is Sabina, AKA Adrenalynn!"

Ricci and Sperling are currently co-producing Prozac Nation, based on Elizabeth Wurtzel's novel. Ricci also stars in that.

Thanks to Dana for the tip!

Reported By Comics2Film 12/16/99:

According to a posting by Tony Daniel on his F5 Entertainment website, feature films based on his comics The Tenth and Adrenalynn are in the early stages of development.

"We are currently in negotiations with people in Japan to create a Tenth anime feature that would appear theatrically in Japan and then on video for release here in the States," Daniel tells his readers.  "We're also looking into releasing a Manga version of the Tenth comic in Japan, which in turn would be also be produced in all the other countries, including America. Again, neither are done deals yet, but I thought you all might like to know what I'm up to, so wish me luck."

Daniel later writes, "On Adrenalynn news, Alan McElroy, writer of the Spawn movie as well as its first season of HBO cartoons, is working on creating an Adrenalynn movie, based on some of the ideas presented in her miniseries. Warner Bros. already have already shown interest in producing it."  Daniel and company are expected to pitch the concept to studios at the end of this year.
